Situated on the North West coast in Southport, Royal Birkdale is possibly the finest of all golf courses in England so why not have a wedding there! Sarah has heritage and history with Royal Birkdale with being a member but also her father being a past captain. It was very important to her to host her big day at this classic venue.

Sarah got ready at home right across the road from St James Church while her sisters and bridesmaids had their hair and makeup done by the wonderful Christopher Maerevoet.

Ed and the groomsmen decided before getting suited and booted to have a clean cut shave the gentlemen’s way at the amazing Master Barber Shop.

Once the guests and groom were settled and in position at the Church, Sarah arrived with her entourage which included her lovely little flower girl. The road was stopped by a very unique lollipop lady, the best man and his bride crossing sign.

After the touching ceremony, the new couple and their guests proceeded to the Royal Birkdale for canapes and drinks before sitting down for their wedding breakfast.

At sunset, myself, Dave (second photographer) Sarah and Ed headed out to the 15th hole for some beautiful sunset shots. The golf club even allowed us on top of the building to make the most of the epic sky. Apparently a Royal Birkdale First!
Once we’d caught the best of the light, we headed back to the first dance. The evening continued with great laughter, excellent food, and drink.
Sarah and Ed’s wedding was a gorgeous, family orientated and a personal day with brilliant final touches and probably the best surroundings in the North West.
