Holmes Mill Wedding, Clitheroe. What a stunning venue and a great setting for Kate and James to get married.
Despite all odds and amongst the madness of social distancing and the Coronavirus these guys got married and what a day it was. I arrived in the morning to photograph Kate and James (separately) getting ready over at the Spinning Block which is around the corner from Holmes Mill. A stunning conversion of the oldest building amongst Holmes Mill. Each room decorated differently and I have to say Kate defiantly picked the best one. The day was stunning with only the odd cloud in site and before I knew it it was ceremony time!
The ceremony room was decorated beautifully, simple and rustic. James waited patiently for his bride to arrive and was blown away when she started to walk down the aisle with her brother. The service was one of emotion, love and laughter. They both said their vows to each other before exchanging rings to seal their marriage. Guest were invited for prosecco and canapés (who would turn this down?) before starting family and group photos. I managed to steel the bride and groom away for 20 mins to have some photos around the Holmes Mill and its engine room.
Food time! The Bride and Groom where invited into the wedding breakfast with a huge round of applause from all their guests. Kate and James wanted simple comfort food this was reflected in their wedding breakfast. A stunning steak and ale pie for main course, yes please! and yes I managed to sneak some!
Next Up, speeches! These were not short of tears and laughter. After the best man sat down Boris Johnson decided to make an appearance via BBC news closing all bars and restaurants immediately. Panic set in around the room but despite it all Holmes Mill Wedding staff decided against Boris and not ruin what had been such an amazing day. The staff proceed with the evening and gave everyone a free shot to cheer them up. This teed up what was going to be an amazing evening.
Evening guest arrived and it was first dance time. Guest gathered around and watched the newly wedded couple dance together for the first time. Then it was PARTY TIME! The dance floor was full all night.
A huge thanks for Kate and James for having me be part of their amazing day and I wish you both the best for the future. I have to also give a big shout out to the Holmes Mill Wedding event staff for running the day amazingly despite everything and carrying on to give Kate and James the day they deserve.
